Bayside Out&Back:  60 minutes, 4.24 miles, 4.24 mph, HR=149.  Hanna has been limping off and on since Friday.  I was able to rule out any issue with her front feet, but she doesn’t limp enough to determine which front leg is bothering her.  She did just fine on this morning’s jog.  I met with a Realtor this afternoon to discuss the sale of my house.  I shot myself in the foot with all this tile, but I knew that.  What I wasn’t aware of was the biggest selling feature of my property; setback from the lake, nicely allowing for a house two or three times the size of mine.  Given the state of the financial sector and real estate market, I think I’ll stay put for now.  I can’t find a compelling reason to leave here at this time.  I have control over this house, which is more than I could say for money in the bank.  The Realtor will keep me in mind if he encounters someone wanting a great spot to build their Taj Mahal and I’m going to leave it at that for now.  Microsoft Office goes through the Configuration Process each and every time I open it on my Dell Latitude D410.  Something to do with Microsoft Office Groove, which I no longer use.  I’ve tried to delete this software, but it errors out every time.  Microsoft Office Diagnostics comes up with nothing.

I am bringing no animal products into the house, so when we needed milk, I bought soy and rice milk.  When Avery asked for a glass of milk, I poured her some soy milk.  She took a sip, set it down and said; “This doesn’t taste like milk, Grandma”.  OK.  I poured her some rice milk, to which I received the same response.

Bayside Out&Back at what felt like a good pace.  My GPS data has disappeared!  I’m using the new Garmin Forerunner 405.  This isn’t the first time this has happened and I’m not sure if it’s a hardware or software failure.  There is a house at the end of this route that I am seriously considering.  More seriously than I’ve considered anything thus far.  Though upon my return home, standing on my lakeside lawn with “hallelujah” by Rufus Wainwright playing on my iPOD . . . I have to wonder if there really is a better place to live.  But this house is so livable for me and so close to where I am now that, with little effort, I can still enjoy the lake and trails with much lower overhead.  I dug out the Owner’s Manual, reset the Forerunner 405 and found my data!  Or not.

24 hours on the trickle charger and my ToyCar started just fine this morning.  The ToyCar gets serviced and detailed before winter storage and I’m not ready to do that just yet, and I’m not inclined to have it serviced at this time, so I’ll put the trickle charger on when I park it for the weekend and cross my fingers that does the trick for now.  The Wagon is due to be serviced next week.  I have no patience for car related “stuff”.  I don’t know if having two makes it better or worse.  At least I always have one that works.  If I only had one car, I doubt I would keep it as long as I’ve kept these two.  And, if there were something I’ld rather drive, I probably would.  I’m not sure why, but these two cars are very near and dear to my heart.

Several books I’ve read lately have me curious about living as a Vegan.  There’s no way I could do it without Steve’s support, as he does as much, if not more, of our cooking as I do.  He’s agreed to give it a try.  I was thinking we would commit to a Vegan diet for the month of October.  This would give us a chance to use up what’s left in the freezer/pantry.  How serendipitous that the first week of October is Compassionate Action for Animals fifth annual week-long celebration of all that’s veg:  Veg Week 2008! Rent-A-Geek’s presence has ruined my hope of an early departure from the office today.  I think perhaps it’s time to embrace fall and start wearing long pants, shoes, socks and maybe even sweaters.
