There are two Samoyeds along our route who are particularly bothersome in their charging, snarling and snapping. While they’ve never actually bit (yet?), they scare me. Today they were both more aggressive than usual and kept it up much longer. One of them got hit by a truck, right in front of us. Lucky for the dog it was only grazed on the back end, the driver didn’t even stop. The lady behind, who almost rear ended him, did. I hope the dogs learned something from the experience, but I doubt it. The owner is probably still in the yard hollering ineffectually. We saw Neil Simon’s “Proposals” at the Old Log Theater.

Avery is beginning to understand the concept of past, present and future. She tells me about things that happened “last day” or she’s anticipating “next day”. We baked a chocolate bundt cake in celebration of Steve’s 56th birthday. The socks I knit for Avery were way too small. We’ve traced her foot and I’ll try again.

I won free tickets to the Lagoon Cinema’s local preview of Ron Howard’s “In the Shadow of the Moon”!

My Doctor’s office called with the pathology report. Good news!

Instead of our weekly outing to Caribou Coffee, we attended a Minnesota Historical Society event at a recently restored mansion on Summit Avenue in St.Paul. I made most of the arrangements for an October trip to New York City!

A dreary morning and I’m awaiting the Technician that will prepare my furnaces for winter. I’m his second call, I hope his first goes well/quickly. Those plastic boxes of jeans marked “Too Big 04/06” are now empty and the jeans folded neatly in my closet. I can thank(?) contented living and a Man who knows his way around the kitchen as well as the grocery store.

I bought Avery some LittleMissMatched socks. But, no way will she wear socks that don’t match. I’m in big trouble when she starts to notice how I dress her to go out and play.

I’ve had a headache all day, but beyond that I did just fine working today.

LEEP. Been there. Done that. Beyond the preparation instructions my Doctor mailed me, I was unaware of exactly what I was in for because I stopped reading at “an electric current passes through the fine wire loop to cut away a thin layer of abnormal tissue”, which was pretty much the first paragraph. Some things a person just doesn’t need to know too much about. The grounding me to their machine was a little unsettling. As was the big smoke evacuation tube. But, all in all, it wasn’t so bad. The best part? She showed me the end-of-your-thumb-sized chunk of flesh she removed but, unfortunately, didn’t take me seriously when I asked to take a picture of it.

Dear Mom; I went to church. Yes, the Catholic church.
