The Grandfather clock has been repaired.  The real clock has a much more civilized tone than the computer one did.  TechnoGym Wave:  60 minutes, 13.62 miles, HR=128.

Avery and I made Red Velvet Cake.  One of my best efforts!  Cake in hand, we had dinner with Soren and his family.

I think 2009 may be the year of the Tomato.  Or maybe the Potato.  Someone wants to look at my house.  Well, not my house really, they’ll tear it down.  It’s the site they’re interested in.  Today the very thought makes me ill.

Vicks VapoRub on my feet overnight wasn’t the miracle cure I had hoped for.

Early Mass.  West on the LuceLine:  61 minutes, 3.47 miles, 3.4 mph, HR=128.  My Mom’s Sister says Vicks VapoRub on my feet while I sleep will cure my cold.  Since I’m out of Irish Whiskey, I guess I’ll try it.

I was about to take some NyQuil last night, when I decided to read the label.  The first ingredient is Alcohol followed by food coloring, artificial flavor and high fructose corn syrup.  Supposedly there is medicine for pain relief, fever reduction, cough suppressant and an antihistamine.  I’m not experiencing much pain, have no fever and little coughing.  I’m wary of what an antihistamine will do to my delicate fluid balance.  I pondered this for a few seconds and went down to the dining room to retrieve the bottle of Old Bushmills Irish Whiskey the neighbor lady left behind on New Years Eve.  If I’m going to consume medicinal alcohol, I figure I would stick with the pure stuff.  A shot of Whiskey and a cotton handkerchief smeared with Wholefood Farmacy’s Vaporescent over my nose/mouth got me through the night just fine.  West on the LuceLine:  55 minutes, 3.03 miles, 3.03 mph, HR=112.

I’m not sure who felt worse today, Avery or me.  Oh, the coughing and sneezing!  Despite our ills, we “made a recipe”.  Today it was Pineapple Upside-Down Pumpkin Gingerbread cake.  That cake was upstaged by the Birthday Cake Bear that Steve made for Avery.  We celebrated her fourth birthday with dinner at my Mom & Dad’s.

Not being able to talk really shouldn’t keep me from typing, but it does.
