Caribou Coffee #25. Acerbic: Sharp, biting, or acid in temper, expression, or tone. Who, me?
Violated!
Yesterday I violated my “no using the car on weekends” rule when I went to my office to process the W2’s. Today I drove the darn thing to church. It was take the car or be really late. Not going at all was an option for just a fleeting moment. I was ready early so I started working on cleaning my desk and files. I don’t know if BigBen wasn’t chiming, or I didn’t hear it – though I was sitting right next to it.
Woodway Treadmill
I had a million and four excuses not to, but . . . 42 minutes, 2.25 miles and Grey’s Anatomy; “Into You Like a Train”.
After a While
After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn
that love doesn’t mean leaning
and company doesn’t always mean security.
And you begin to learn
that kisses aren’t contracts
and presents aren’t promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child
and you learn
to build your roads on today
because tomorrow’s ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight.
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn
with every goodbye, you learn…

***Hillcrest Road MLS#3263987***
The setting of this house is absolutely beautiful! 1950’s vintage, straight roofed, walkout rambler – exactly what I’m looking for. The main floor has been remodeled to my satisfaction. The master bedroom/bathroom is a bit small. I love the mostly original pink-tiled 50’s bathroom off the foyer. The Realtor called it a “project” house. There are things that need doing as well as things that want doing, both of which are in the lower level. Nothing I’m afraid of and the price would easily allow both the need and want to be done. I could live here!

While the house itself is OK, there is nothing pretty about the setting. I could not, would not, live here.
