I haven’t had an adrenaline rush like this since May 2006. I am concerned about this afternoon’s appointment with my Doctor. I am showing my house tomorrow morning.

I actually considered wearing socks today.

It looks like it’s going to rain all day again today. Not a bad thing as there’s much laundry to do and pumpkin chocolate chip bread to make. I substituted pumpkin puree for the bananas in my banana bread recipe and added the spices from the pumpkin pie recipe we used Friday and I’m pleased with the results! Despite the rain, Coco and I did the Stubbs/Maxwell loop. The battery in my Forerunner 305 was dead.

Avery spent the night. It rained all day, but we put on our rain coats and spent some time outside anyway. Spent all afternoon/evening in the car; took Avery home, picked up Mom and Gladys at the airport and drove each of them home – one to Moundsview the other to St.Michael.

Typical Friday: Wash the car, get gas, stop at the Post Office, an hour at the playground, lunch, kayaking, nap. Avery and I made pumpkin pie with pumpkins from our garden! Four pumpkins yield 12 cups of pumpkin puree, half of that made four pies.

Steve’s friend, Ed NotTheScienceGuy is our houseguest while he’s in town for a wedding.

I’ve got the extra yard space all figured out. I’m thinking stone Labyrinth and Solarium/Gazebo.

My goals for today: Laundry. Organize my home office to a point that I could actually work at the desk and wouldn’t be embarrassed to put a camera in there. Stay tuned! Steve is clearing the brush out of the woods back to the creek that forms the south border of my property. What are we going to do with all that additional yard space?

I don’t know how she managed, but about 3 am Coco hacked up a wad of grass the size and shape of a small cucumber. There was a fox in my front yard this morning. According to the University of Illinois Extension, we can freeze the tomatoes! The sound of generators has given way to the sound of chainsaws in my neighborhood.

The power went out during the night Friday and has just now been restored. Ugh. I was nervous about the contents of my freezers as there was a puddle in front of them this morning, but the meat remains frozen solid, so no harm done.
