Flooring progress has come to a halt, awaiting in floor heat material. It’s going to be Monday before they get back to work. The Media Specialist got the wiring squared away and I’ve rescheduled DirecTV installation. The security system is up and running – via cellular! This week’s CSA box contained eggs, asparagus, lettuce, rhubarb and onions. I spent hours and hours today vacuuming, mopping and dusting. The only good thing about not having Contractors in the house again until Monday is that I get to enjoy my clean(er) house through the weekend. The Floyd Security Technician reported water dripping into his workspace from the ceiling above him. Surprise! I’m guessing it’s coming from the shower in the master bathroom. Consulted Angie’s List for a “Grout Doctor”.

I was half afraid to come home today for fear nothing had got done. I am pleased to find the living room and master bedroom carpet has been removed. I am relieved there is no disturbing sign of moisture or mold anywhere. We got our first CSA box today; Eggs, Asparagus and Onions.

I met the movers at Oxford at 8:00 am this morning. First they loaded all the furniture destined for the consignment shop. After that, they filled the truck with boxes from the living room. There was more room in the truck than I figured there was in the Oakton garage, so I had them stop at about half. The consignment shop refused a few items so I did a stressed scramble to find another place that would accept the remaining items. Goodwill, I love you! One of my garage stalls is filled with carpet debris awaiting arrival of a dumpster.

It was just too nice an evening to spend inside, so Daisy and I went for a walk. NorthwestLoop: 1:09:47, 4.36 miles, 3.7 mph, HR=136. A lot more traffic than we’re used to! There’s a coffee shop, Dairy Queen and drinking fountain on this route.

A lot got done today! I did some laundry. I Installed shelf paper until I just couldn’t do it anymore. Put away a bunch of kitchen stuff.

8:00 am date with a Locksmith. The family room carpet has been removed and the pad looks just like I envision the floor! The weight machine has been removed as well. I’ve spent the morning installing shelf paper and sorting through things the previous owner left behind.

Two hours at the gym followed by: Dentist. HairCut. Flooring Contractor. Decorator. Water Conditioner. And, I vacuumed. I figure cleaning it myself will be a great way to get to know my new home.

My Lawyer has given his blessing to closing! Hello, Adrenaline.

¾ of a ream of paper in the form of Association Documents. There’s nothing that alarms me. While I think I will like the built in Community of an Association, the excessive documentation is the down side. I’m anxious to hear my Lawyer’s opinion, which he’s not going to give until tomorrow morning. I did a pre-closing walk through with my Realtor. With one minor exception (the weight machine), things are as they should be.
