I was a little worried how another pilates session might affect my back. Carol spent a good bit of time working on my back trying to loosen some muscles that she felt were too tight. She agrees with Brad that it may be a twisted rib. That is the side I broke several ribs in a boating incident many years ago. Avery and I dropped off some stuff for Amelia’s garage sale. She enjoyed story time at Harvest Moon while Steve and I had our lunch. Avery came with me to get my hair cut. My Mom and Gladys joined us for dinner.

After pilates today something on the right side of my upper back/shoulder blade are hurt so bad I could hardly breath. It wasn’t constant, but came and went. I could hardly lift my coffee or bring my spoon of berries to my mouth. I haven’t experienced that sort of pain in a very long time. At my office I found myself pushing against the edge of my desk and sort of torqueing my upper back helped. I called and made an appointment with the Brost Clinic. I was able to get in today for a basic assessment, but need to get X-rays and scans before she can create a treatment plan if that’s appropriate.

BaysideOut&Back w/Daisy: 1:2:23, 4.63 miles, 3.4 mph, HR=108. Gracie is still mostly hobbling around on three legs. Once in a while she’ll touch that right rear foot to the floor, but not often. Gracie knew I was dressed to go for a walk and it was so sad to see her hobble down the hall in an effort to out-maneuver Daisy to the door. Gracie seems a little more chipper today. I would like to see her start trying to use that leg. She was able to get up onto the office window seat.

LuceLineWest w/Daisy: 1:04:45, 3.77 miles, 3.5 mph, HR=99. A birthday party for Steve’s Aunt Charlotte at Steve&Kacy’s. National Wildlife Federation’s Backyard Campout. Our Campers this year: Avery, Soren, Teddy and BabyLuLu. Our friends, Teri&Tony joined us for sunset. The giant marshmallows and pie irons were a big hit. Pie Iron Tip: Wonder Bread. Gracie hurt her right rear leg (again) chasing a swallow. She’s hurting big time.

Daisy doesn’t like thunderstorms either. I spent the wee hours of this morning trying to keep her calm. Gracie didn’t like them either, and she’s over it and Daisy will be over it too, eventually. I am allowing Daisy to run free in the yard while dragging a 30’ lead. I need to see her get corrected by the fence and do the right thing two or three times before I get rid of the lead. If that’s not happened by Friday’s training session, I’m going to rethink that requirement. Today while the dogs were playing in the yard Gracie ended up on her back with Daisy standing over her. I did not expect it to go that way. I am surprised Gracie turned belly up for Daisy. I expected it to go the other way. Daisy can play pretty rough. Rougher than Gracie can or should tolerate. So far Gracie has only bared her teeth and growled and if that doesn’t work, she retreats to the kennel. Daisy has hives? She’s now got access to more of the yard and planting areas. Is she allergic to something? Daisy went to the first of six obedience classes and did very well! Since Hanna’s been gone, Gracie will not eat unless I’m home. I thought Daisy might change that, but so far not.
