Snow! Game dinner. Duck tastes like liver. Even without the quack, I would never choose to eat it.
Mighty Fine Advice
1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
2. Marry someone you love to talk with. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
3. Don’t believe all you hear, spend all you have, or sleep all you want.
4. When you say, “I love you,” mean it.
5. When you say, “I’m sorry,” look the person in the eye.
6. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
7. Believe in love at first sight.
8. Never laugh at anyone’s dream. People who don’t have dreams don’t have much.
9. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it’s the only way to live life completely.
10. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
11. Don’t judge people by their relatives.
12. Talk slowly but think quickly.
14. When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, smile and ask, “Why do you want to know?”
15. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
16. Say “Bless you” when you hear someone sneeze.
17. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
18. Remember the three R’s: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.
19. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
20. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
21. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
22. Spend some time alone.
Unfortunately, I don’t remember who to thank for this.

I have two Christmas presents wrapped! Most of my shopping is done, but I make it a policy to only have one package per person, so there’s a lot I can’t wrap just yet because one last bit has yet to arrive. But, soon! It’s time to give serious thought to a tree. I’ve long be curious about the Rosary. Now I understand. Sorta. I came home from church tonight to find my kitchen smells like gingerbread!

After Mass we went down town to the American Swedish Institute. Unfortunately, we arrived two and a half hours before it opens. We walked around the outside, peeked in the windows, made sure the doors really were locked then gave up and went home.

Since we’re going to have houseguests between the Christmas and New Year holidays, I decided to put the Christmas quilts on all the beds. I can’t seem to find the queen sized one, but in the course of digging through closets I found the sweater!
