Ugh – it took me 90 minutes to get home today, though I did get to chat with an old friend at a stoplight.
We enjoyed our Massage Therapist’s visit and saw Lisa and Evelyn off to Omaha. We went back for a second look at the Hollyhock Lane house, only to find it’s not gotten any smaller. After that, we toured three more that weren’t even close to suitable.
Avery and I had a very short visit with Bob, because he wasn’t feeling very well. We stopped at the grocery store for pizza fixings, then went home to cut up veggies and make fruit salad. Lisa and Evelyn arrived in the early afternoon. We enjoyed Avery and Evelyn’s home-made pizzas for dinner.
Today’s adventure in house hunting:
Wilshire Walk – Nice house, but too noisy.
Hollyhock Lane – Top of our short list. Actually, alone on our short list. We’re going back for a second look on Sunday.
Highland Road – Too much space we don’t need and not enough of what we do. Interesting yard in that there is no grass but lots of gravel paths through the plantings to seating areas. Would require a live in Gardener, since neither of us is inclined. Steep shared driveway.
Old Kent Road – This one spent 10 hours on our short list. It’s the perfect house. BUT! There’s no yard. The deck posts are currently in the pond. And, it’s stucco. I would love to return to this neighborhood!!
Maple Ridge Court – Kewl house. Too small. 2-car garage is a problem.
Almost every trip, my car beeps at me. I’m beginning to think it’s because some other vehicle is invading our personal space. We enjoyed the “Toast and Taste in the Gardens” event at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
Avery observed and commented that Daisy seems to be itching/scratching more than usual these days. Respecting Avery’s good sense when it comes to animals, I’ve started Daisy on Benadryl.
We were really excited about this house the first time we saw it. Today, not so much. In fact, it’s been removed from consideration. At this point, there isn’t even a short list.
We are beginning to settle into something resembling a routine. Today, the Dogs started their weekly visit to PupTown. They were pretty excited to be there!
The closing on my Minnetonka home happened without a hitch. I was not being honest with myself as to just how nervous I was about that.
Since my right knee seems no worse for Avery and I having walked the dogs on Friday morning, I decided to try it again today: 47:48, 2.35 miles, 2.9 mph, HR=120. Again, I used the retractable leash to keep the jerking/pulling to an absolute minimum.
